Embarcação está em Santos e tem previsão de chegar domingo
A draga gigante Utrecht, de fabricação holandesa, tem previsão de chegar em Itajaí na manhã de domingo. A embarcação, que opera sugando material do fundo do rio pra descarte em alto mar, será usada pra restabelecer a profundidade do canal de acesso portuário e dos berços de atracação.
A dragagem do rio Itajaí-açu foi retomada no dia 8 de novembro após três meses de paralisação devido a uma dívida de R$ 35 milhões do porto com a empresa de dragagem. A volta do serviço foi possível com um acordo de antecipação tarifária com a Portonave, renegociação da dívida e prorrogação do contrato de dragagem.
A retomada da dragagem foi feita de imediato com a draga Njord, uma embarcação pequena que opera por injeção pra que os sedimentos sejam levados pela correnteza. Já a Utrecht, com 159 metros de comprimento, tem uma cisterna gigante para carregar até 18 mil metros cúbicos de material dragado do rio. É a maior draga do tipo hopper em operação no Brasil atualmente e que está trabalhando em Santos (SP).
Com o trabalho, o calado operacional do canal portuário deve ser restabelecido para as profundidades mínimas contratuais, de 14 metros (canal externo) e 13,5 metros (canal interno). As cotas atuais estão em 13,9 e 13,2 metros, respectivamente, com homologação das medições pela Marinha do Brasil válida até 23 de novembro.
A previsão é que a recuperação do canal com a nova draga seja feita em 10 dias após o início dos trabalhos. A Utrecht já trabalhou em Itajaí em 2019 e 2024. Na última vez, foi para a dragagem dos sedimentos trazidos pelas cheias no rio Itajaí-açu. A embarcação pode fazer 12 viagens por dia para despejo do material, em área a seis quilômetros da costa.
