Analistas estrangeiros não conseguem ver uma luz no fim do túnel do câmbio entre o real e o dólar.
Conforme mostra a coluna de Carlo Cauti na Edição 247 da Revista Oeste, os gringos avaliam a possibilidade de um câmbio em R$ 7 em 2025. De acordo com um relatório recente do banco Morgan Stanley, a depreciação do real pode ir ainda mais longe caso o Banco Central peca autonomia, ou seja, deixe de controlar as expectativas de inflação por meio da política monetária. É um cenário chamado pelos economistas de “dominância fiscal”.
Segundo o Morgan Stanley, o real tem “espaço para ficar ainda mais barato”. De outra forma, o câmbio pode piorar ainda mais. O banco norte-americano Wells Fargo está um pouco mais otimista nesse prazo do que o Morgan Stanley; aquela instituição financeira vê a chance de o dólar chegar a R$ 7 até o começo de 2026.
As projeções para o dólar em 2025.
A crescente preocupação com o cenário cambial no Brasil reflete-se nas previsões para o dólar nos próximos anos. A Pesquisa Focus, um termômetro relevante do mercado financeiro, projeta que o dólar chegue a R$ 5,77 ao fim de 2025, o que indica uma deterioração nas expectativas para o real.
Estimativas de bancos estrangeiros são ainda mais pessimistas, sugerindo que o dólar pode ultrapassar a marca de R$ 6 — dependendo da condução da política fiscal. Desde o começo do ano, o real sofreu uma desvalorização significativa, com acúmulo de alta de 24,61% pelo dólar. A moeda brasileira se tornou a segunda com pior desempenho entre as principais divisas globais.
O Morgan Stanley projeta que o dólar possa alcançar R$ 6,30 no segundo semestre de 2025. Ioana Zamfir, chefe de estratégia para América Latina do banco, ressalta que, na ausência de medidas fiscais eficazes, “mais prêmios de risco podem ser precificados”. Em um cenário de dominância fiscal, o dólar poderia alcançar entre R$ 6,70 e R$ 7, o que reflete a perda de confiança dos investidores.
O Wells Fargo também revisou suas previsões para o câmbio, agora esperando que o dólar atinja R$ 6,80 em 2025. Os economistas do banco acreditam que a deterioração das condições fiscais pode levar o real a novos níveis mínimos, em relação ao dólar norte-americano, com a taxa de câmbio podendo atingir R$ 7 até o primeiro trimestre de 2026.
Os estrategistas do Deutsche Bank compartilham dessa visão pessimista, projetando o dólar a R$ 6 no fim de 2025 e R$ 6,50 no fim de 2026. Eles não descartam a possibilidade de a moeda atingir R$ 7, caso ocorram choques adicionais na política fiscal.
Perspectiva otimista do Citi para o dólar
O Citi, no entanto, adota uma perspectiva mais otimista para o câmbio. Leonardo Porto, economista-chefe para o Brasil do banco, acredita que a atual incerteza fiscal deverá diminuir ao longo do próximo ano, o que resultará em um cenário cambial mais neutro. A instituição financeira espera que o dólar esteja em torno de R$ 5,70 em 2025, prevendo uma estabilização do real.
Recentemente, o Citi abriu uma posição comprada em real contra uma cesta de moedas, incluindo o dólar e o euro — o que reforça sua confiança na recuperação da moeda brasileira. A comparação com 2015, quando o real se desvalorizou 30% ante uma cesta de moedas, revela que a está atualmente apenas 10% mais barata.
